Abstract: Creation of Majorana fermions in one out of many superconductor-semiconductor hybrid systems seems very likely. I will discuss an implementation-independent scheme for manipulation of Majorana fermions with relies on existent superconducting circuits, and in particular on the use of transmon qubits. The advantage of this approach is the absent need to modify microscopic parameters of the system in order to perform braiding or readout. Within this framework. I will consider in particular the minimal setup required to measure braiding, and one possible implementation of a scalable quantum computer using Majorana fermions.
